In 2000 Moldova, together with another 189 countries of the world signed the Millennium Declaration of United Nations. Th is document reaffi rmed the attitude of the international community towards the fundamental values of humanity – freedom, equality, solidarity, tolerance, respecting the environment and sharing responsibilities – and emphasized the relevance of solving serious problems in reaffi rming peace, respecting human rights and ensuring sustainable development and environment protection.
